We are pleased to announce the appointment of Tracey McCillen as Senior Independent Director to the England Karate Governing Body Board.
Tracey brings more than 35 years of experience across national and international sport, with a recognised specialism in disability sport, inclusion, eligibility and classification, and governance practice.
She is currently Chief Executive of Sport Excel UK, leading high-performance pathways for athletes with intellectual impairment, autism and Down syndrome. Tracey also serves as a Trustee of London Sport, where she Chairs the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Committee and the Remuneration Committee, and holds the role of Senior Independent Director.
A qualified Barrister, Tracey works internationally as a consultant with Tactic Connect and is a Visiting Fellow at De Montfort University’s CRISTAL research programme. Her career includes senior leadership roles within Virtus sport at European and World level, Trustee roles with Activity Alliance, and extensive experience advising governing bodies and charities on governance, inclusion and ethical decision-making.
Tracey is a passionate advocate for equality, equity and disability rights in sport, committed to ensuring lived experience and athlete voice are central to decision-making.
