The England Karate National Governing Body (EKNGB) is delighted to announce a new partnership with Kaizen Physiotherapy & Performance further strengthening our Performance Department and the support available to England athletes.
Kaizen is a leading London-based sports physiotherapy and performance practice, founded by David Thomas MSc, BSc (Hons), Chartered Physiotherapist, alongside Augustin Hadonou MAACP, BSc (Hons), Chartered Physiotherapist. With multiple clinicians across five clinics across London, Kaizen provides world-class sports medicine and rehabilitation services to elite athletes.
As Founder of Kaizen, David Thomas will work directly with EKNGB athletes and is committed to building long-term relationships that support their development, performance and health throughout their sporting careers.
Through this partnership, identified EKNGB Tier 1 athletes will receive comprehensive musculoskeletal screening, injury assessment and performance reviews at Kaizen’s state-of-the-art facilities. The aim is to identify and address any issues that may impact current or future performance, ensuring athletes have access to the highest standard of preventative care and rehabilitation.
Kaizen will work in close collaboration with EKNGB Head of Medical David Inman and the wider medical team, providing an integrated approach to athlete care.
The Kaizen team has extensive experience working with Team GB athletes, professional sportspeople and Premier League and international footballers, as well as supporting multidisciplinary performance teams across a wide range of sports. This expertise will provide EKNGB athletes with access to best-in-class sports medicine, rehabilitation and performance support.
In addition to supporting our Tier 1 programme, Kaizen is pleased to offer exclusive preferential rates to EKNGB National ‘A’ Squad members who wish to access treatment, rehabilitation or performance consultations at any of its London clinics. This provides an additional level of support for our elite athletes throughout the year.
Looking ahead, Kaizen also plans to establish a satellite clinics throughout England, creating greater accessibility for athletes based outside London.
This partnership further enhances EKNGB’s commitment to providing athletes and coaches with access to the highest standards of sports science and sports medicine in the UK. Alongside our existing performance partnerships, it strengthens the medical and performance support available both at National Squad training sessions and during international competition.
Further information will be shared directly with eligible Tier 1 and National ‘A’ Squad athletes over the coming weeks.
The first group of identified senior athletes will be contacted directly to arrange their initial screening and assessment appointments.
