We would like to welcome a new addition to the Sport Medical Team and Performance Department. David Thomas MSc, BSc (Hons) 2nd Dan and former England Senior Squad Member.

David is a physiotherapist with a background in elite sport and high-performance environments, holding an MSc in Physiotherapy from the University of Birmingham, following a degree in Sports and Exercise Science. He has developed his clinical career across the NHS, private practice, and professional sport, building extensive experience in the assessment and management of athletic injury.

He spent eight years working at Chelsea Football Club and has also worked in professional rugby. David has supported international and Team GB athletes across martial arts, swimming, and athletics, and continues to work 1:1 with high-level footballers, including those competing in the Premier League.

His clinical approach integrates physiotherapy with strength and conditioning principles, using objective testing and performance profiling to guide rehabilitation. He focuses on developing robust, sport-specific athletes by addressing not only injury recovery but also the physical demands required for return to performance and long-term resilience.

David is the founder of Kaizen Physiotherapy and Performance, established in 2022, where he leads a team working with high-performing individuals across multiple sites in central and south west London.

Alongside his clinical work, David maintains a strong personal interest in martial arts, regularly training and keeping closely connected to the physical demands of the sport.
