EKNGB Young Lions Kata pre-training 7th June – WKF Youth Camp and World Youth Cup
This morning saw the EKNGB Young Lions Kata pre-training session, which went really well. Tracksuits and badges were handed out, adding to the excitement and team spirit.
The main focus of the session was kime and the finish of techniques, so the warm-up was designed to develop those aspects from the start.
We then used the agility ladder for a series of drills to improve speed, control, and the ability to stop sharply between movements. These are simple exercises the athletes can also practise at home to help with transitioning quickly and cleanly from one technique to the next.
The session then moved on to individual technical work within each athlete’s kata, refining specific areas for improvement. We finished with several performance rounds, giving everyone the opportunity to put the day’s work into practice.
A very positive session with great effort and focus from everyone involved.
