Fantastic MASA Conference today at Brighton University. The EKNGB joined other NGB’s and colleagues from Belgium, Korea, Wales, Germany and Netherlands from all aspects of academia and governance in a roundtable discussion on topics ranging from safeguarding, inclusion, governance, sport and art and working as a community for the movement forwards of martial arts in the UK.

We were joined by other NGB’s with British Judo, English MMA, UK BJJ, British TKD, Active partnerships among others.

Delegates from 29 countries are attending the international conference.

The afternoon sessions included current developments in research in combat sports of safeguarding across arts. Both from an observation of point of view and psychological effects on athletes.

The EKNGB would like to the thank MASA and look forward to carrying on these conversations moving forwards and working with all other martial arts and combat sports in the further development of recognition by government agencies.

Further posts will follow ways to gain free workshops and CPD for all our EKNGB clubs, associations and coaches/instructors in areas of student/athlete welfare and safeguarding seminars in martial arts. All free for EKNGB members.
